Michael Shema
Founder & Managing Director
Michael founded Gahigiro Capital in March 2017 and is responsible for the company’s strategy, from formulation at board level to its execution. He is responsible for all business development efforts, client relationships and in charge of client info assimilation, and client support in negotiations & closing.
Michael currently serves as voting external member on the Impact Investment Committee of the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF). Over his career he has worked for different institutions such as Arrowhead Business & Investment Decisions (New York), Iungo Capital B.V. (Kigali- Rwanda), Doyelcy Capital Partners, (Kigali-Rwanda), Positivo BGH (Kigali-Rwanda).
Michael recieved an MBA in Finance from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA-USA and completed his Bachelor of Arts in Business and Economics from Ursinus College Collegeville, PA-USA.
Timothy Manzi
Vice-President
Timothy joined Gahigiro Capital in 2021. He is a Finance and Audit professional with over twelve (12) years of experience leading teams and providing transactional services across multiple industries and geographies to clients in East and Central Africa. Prior to joining the company, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers Rwanda and later as a Senior Accountant for Rugabano Outgrowers Services Limited and Services Company Outgrowers Nyaruguru Limited.
Timothy is an affiliate of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA-UK) and a certified Financial Modelling and Valuation Analyst under the Corporate Finance Institute(CFI).He holds a Bachelors of Commerce degree in Financial Accounting from the University of Cape Town and is currently enrolled in the MBA-Strategy programme under Heriot Watt University, Scotland.
